cruise on board duties

On board Duties and Organisation of Pupils

During educational cruises the ship is run as a school. The pupils are arranged in houses and are called to lectures (entertaining PowerPoint talks about where they are to visit), classroom sessions informal meetings for briefings and to complete Port Naut booklets issued by Voyages of Discovery, or to write a scrapbook/diary of their holiday. While one half of the school is in lectures, the other half is in classroom sessions. During the week there is also a pool session for each house. During each of these events a party leader needs to be with the pupils.

Each evening there is a duty rota for party leaders - each session lasting for 30 minutes, during which they patrol in a designated part of the ship.

Party leaders are requested to ensure that their pupils are in their cabins at bed time and stay quietly in their cabins.
