cruise scholarships

Applies to all entries

Choose the country being visited on the cruise that interests you the most. Now write, according to the details below, about any aspect of that place in whichever way you want.

For example, you might choose to write about one or more of the following:

• its residents
• its history
• its importance in the world
• its contacts with other places
• its culture and religious background
• its landscape and relationship with physical features (such as the sea, or any rivers, mountains, volcanoes etc).

But your own ideas are just as welcome!

General Points:

1. Illustrations of any type are welcome, especially when they are original.
2. The internet may be useful, but please aim for originality when you use it and avoid quoting word for word.
3. You must give your date of birth and a short note (maybe 10 lines) entitled 'Why I would like to sail on a Voyage of Discovery'.
4. A note from a parent or guardian must be included confirming that the entrant has had no significant help in preparing the entry, although some advice on how to tackle the subject is allowed.

Your entry must be accompanied by:

1. A 100 word note explaining 'Why I would like to go on a Voyage of Discovery'.
2. A short letter from a parent or guardian confirming:
• that the entrant has had no significant help in preparing the project although some advice on how to tackle the subject is allowed
• the entrant’s date of birth.

Entries must be sent to the Secretary by the closing date for each cruise. Please contact the Secretary for details.
